FAQ

Q: I have a Skype session booked from 10h to 11h, at what time should I call?
A: Start time is on the hour. Please call at 10. Our session will conclude at 10:55.

Q: Can I book three online sessions in a row?
A: Sure! If we connect at 3pm for instance, we’ll keep going until 5.55pm without interruption. You win!

Q: Are you considering teaching scriptwriting over a week or so, doing workshops?
A: Why not? If you wish to take part in this type of workshop, let me know. If/When I can see that there’s a group of you, I could organize that in France, or anywhere in the world.

Q: I would like to discuss my screenplay. Should I send it to you?
A: It sounds to me that you are leaning towards a Skype session. During that meetup, I’ll be asking specific questions, helping you discover your errors, unveiling your blocks, and getting back to what you have been wishing to write – in other words, being the ‘midwife’ for you and your project.
Only send me your screenplay if you want written notes.

Q: I want to remain the sole owner of the rights for my script, is that okay?
A: Not only is that okay but your rights are and will remain yours at all times.

Q: I’m 50-ish and know almost nothing about screenwriting. Can I become a screenwriter?
A: If you’re asking if you can learn how to write a screenplay, age makes no difference. If you’re asking whether your work will be produced, I can answer neither negatively nor positively. On that last part, I’d say that everything is possible!

Q: I’ve got an idea; can you write it for me?
A: Thank you for offering. You can hire my services or another writer’s, but you will need to pay some money upfront. Best if the genre is that writer’s specialty as well. I can top that with the fact that writers also have ideas that they’re writing about already. Why don’t you learn how to write yourself? ‘If you want something done right, do it yourself.’

Q: I am thinking of adapting a book, can you give me some advice there?
I would prefer not. It is not my preference so I don’t think I would be the best person.
If you already have a storyline, characters with wants, needs, conflicts, surprises, etc., I can help you double check that you’ve got it all and can get started, if that makes you feel more comfortable.

Q: Can you help me write a synopsis?
Sure. Why don’t you book a Skype session and we can revisit what you’ve already put on paper?
